About Me

I am a knitter, instructor, and designer with an eye for the unusual or unusually captivating. I always have a pair (or more) of socks on the needles and a few designs weaving their way around my head. My aesthetic focuses on color, contrast, and texture: I love to explore unusual stitch patterns and clever construction in ways that are challenging but accessible. You can find my designs at Knit Picks, Morehouse Farm, The Louisiana Yarn Guys, Lovecrafts, Ravelry and my own website.

I have been teaching knitting for more than 15 years. I love teaching others to expand the way they think about knitting, whether it’s acquiring a new technique or refining their skills to make knitting more enjoyable and the end results more satisfying. My goal is to make complex concepts accessible and approachable for all knitters, while sharing tips that simplify and improve your process, whether you’ve been knitting for several months or several decades!

You can find me teaching through my own Zoom channel as well as at national events such as Vogue Knitting Live, Stitches, Fiberworld and Rhinebeck. I am occasionally available to present or teach virtually for guilds, local yarn shops or even your weekly knitting group. Email deviousknitterATgmailDOTcom to inquire.
